When Food is the Enemy:

An Introduction to working with Eating Disorders

About the workshop

This 1 day workshop is focused on helping you develop a more thorough understanding of the different diagnoses of eating disorders, how they might present in the counselling room, common comorbidity, the risks involved in working with this client group, how to manage those risks and interventions to incorporate into your working with clients struggling with eating and body image difficulties.

Who is it for?

The training is aimed at both students and practicing counsellors. It will be of particularly benefit to those who have had little or no training in eating disorders in the past and want to be prepared for when the situation arises, which it will!

What will I do on this workshop?

The workshop will be a mix of didactic training, group discussion and experiential exercises. There will be the opportunity to reflect on your own relationship with food and body image and time for practicing new skills.
